What is VEMBU?
Vembu - Vilathikulam Empowering Movement For building the Underprivileged is a Non Government Organization aimed at Integral Rural Development with the Tamilnadu registration number: 13\200. It is humble venture of the Salesians of Don Bosco of the Trichy Province to reach the unreached in this part of Tamilnadu. It is geared in building up the local Panchayat, Primary health services, people movements and non-government organizations and Government programme people friendly. To wakeup rural families and youth to avail their rights and duties. To work in the cause of Child Labour elimination and to make children secure: by advocating free, fair and compulsory education play and entertainment.
Vembu's Philosophy? Vembu draws its strength from Don Bosco, who was a tireless worker towards the cause of vagrant children and youth. It is built on his philosophy that every child and youth are to be formed into honest citizens not with firmness but with loving-kindness.
